Ahnapee Trail Opportunities
The Ahnapee State Trail is the destination of recreational users from all over the state. Bikers, hikers, and horseback riders will visit this jewel of nature, located in Kewaunee and Door Counties, and the Friends of the Ahnapee State Trail have been working hard to ensure that this year provides another exciting season of supporting the trail.
First and foremost, we would like to thank all of you who have supported the trail in the past. Whether through monetary donations, volunteer hours, or donations of materials, the work that has been done to build, promote, and maintain this trail has brought about many positive changes over the past years. Our work continues, most recently we have contributed to trail signage in Algoma and printing new maps.
Membership in the Friends of the Ahnapee State Trail
Please fill out a membership application and consider this benevolent opportunity. The Friends organize fund raising activities for the trail, provide volunteers for trail projects, and offer ideas for improving the trail. Past projects include the Reckelberg Park addition in Casco Junction, the fence in Maplewood, and the acquisition and placement of mile markers along the trail (still in progress).
For additional information on the trail and other ways you can help, contact the Kewaunee County Parks and Recreation Department at (920) 388-0444.
